Onboarding and orientation is the process of familiarisation and introduction to a new environment, to new people, and spaces. In a higher education setting, students may complate digital pre-orientation to begin planning for life on campus - from finding accommodation to completing registration processes. Orientation and onboarding is typically conducted shortly before or during the start of a semester to ensure students have access to resources and information that can help them succeed. There is also a space for ongoing orientation in the form of continuous communication, events, chats and forums within the Hopscotch app.
